Your mind DOESN’T OBSESS over them!

 

And when you’re NOT OBSESSED over CAKE, BISCUITS, PIZZA, ICE-CREAM, CHOCOLATE etc.

 

You CAN eat EVERYTHING! (Putting aside veganism for now as vegans DON’T see animal products as “food”).

 

Because when you STOP obsessing over food, you have the ABILITY to sense your natural hunger signals.

 

And when you can detect your hunger signals, it REALLY doesn’t matter whether you occasionally EAT crap food… as you’ll be able to STOP when you’re SATISFIED!

 

 

You see, being INSATIABLE makes you FAT!

 

It DOESN’T matter whether you’re healthy, because IF you EAT more calories than what you burn, YOU. WILL. GET. FAT!

 

 

And the PROBLEM with diets is that it makes you OBSESS over food!

 

The restrictions make you WANT food EVEN MORE!

 

Your mind’s number ONE purpose is to keep you ALIVE!

 

So every time you DON’T eat as nature intended, and that is to EAT when you’re hungry and eat ENOUGH… your mind will send signals to your brain to B.I.N.G.E!

 

 

Then once you perform this ritual of NOT feeding your body ENOUGH when the mind sends messages to your body to EAT…

 

…and instead of eating, you’re RESTRICTING your hunger signals instead… the MIND will quickly THINK it’s in continuous FAMINE!

People On Diets Feel They Can't Stop...

Another problem when you start restricting is that the mind is also built to make things EASIER for you.

 

The only way we manage to live our daily lives is performing thousands of things simultaneously and harmoniously in a form of “HABITS”.

 

Just like switching the light off when you walk out a room, automatically turning the correct side for hot or cold water at your sink, or flushing the toilet after you do your biz… these kinds of automated reflexes makes life a heck of a lot easier!

 

As babies, we had the most BASIC set of skills, like drink, sleep and poop, and in order to get our pretty helpless needs met, we used crying to get what was needed in order to— SURVIVE!

 

 

Therefore, EVERYTHING thereafter HAD to be LEARNED!

 

But as with my previous blogs about the brain, what makes our brain super amazing CAN also be to our detriment.

 

Because, if you continuously feed the brain the same thing (metaphorically and literally speaking), the brain WILL make whatever you’re doing regularly, REGARDLESS it being good or BAD for you INTO a “HABIT,” BURYING the ritual DEEP in the subconscious mind, SAVING you the effort next time, making it EFFORTLESS.

 

 

So, when you continue to DIET, the mind will adapt this kind of behaviour of BINGEING and FAMINE into it’s ”normal” survival rituals.

 

That is the reason why people who diet, FEEL they CANNOT STOP!

Habits

When a habit is reinforced into our minds, unless you know how to break it, YOU. WILL. FEEL. OUT. OF. CONTROL!

 

And the cycle of:

❌ CAN’T eat cakes

❌ CAN’T eat biscuits

❌ CAN’T eat chocolates

❌ CAN’T eat pasta

❌ CAN’T eat …

 

 

Then just like a right schizophrenic… you end up BINGEING on exactly the above things that you’d been RESTRICTING yourself on!!!

 

I spent 22 years in this CYCLE of BINGEING and FAMINE!

 

I DIDN’T know what TRUE hunger really felt like?

 

I was FRIGHTENED of food

 

I was OBSESSED (the psycho kind) with food

 

I was AFRAID to start eating just in case that psycho made its appearance.

 

So in order to TRY to prevent that “psycho” making its appearance, I’d TRY NOT to eat things like cake, biscuits, or anything sweet or carby— what I used to call “TRIGGER” foods.

 

 

I figured that IF I didn’t eat those kinds of foods, that I wouldn’t BINGE, since those were the kinda foods I used to binge on. It only made sense at the time to AVOID eating them right?

 

OH MY goodness… IF ONLY I KNEW that I was actually putting FUEL on the FIRE!!!

 

 

Can you resonate with any of the above?

 

My BIGGEST tip if you feel TRAPPED in this dieting PRISON is to STOP dieting!

 

 

BUT if you think it’s easier said than done… ABSOLUTELY! You’re right… BUT It’s NOT impossible… I can help.
